The company, drive, name & the owner
Desiderata Oy provides acoustic solutions to mitigate echo. Improving the sound environment in interior spaces in order to promote a better performance.
Be it work, study or musical practice, performance is easily raised through a longer focus and attention to detail. Remove the attention-robbers, such as sharp peaks in background noise, and you are set.

The bottom line: knowing to have helped to provide for someones’ improved performance – both academically and within health.
Personal satisfaction: the healing effect of creating something with your own hands.
‘Desiderata’ is a poem believed to be written by a priest, dating back over 100 years, found in a collection of Max Ehrmann.
Key messages are “walk in peace” and “keep a healthy mind by avoiding noise”.
And, X-Y-Z is a fun pun at the mathematical coordinates, as much of what Desiderata Oy does is based on these 3 dimensions.
The founder, owner
Martin R.C. Andersson started out as a mechanical engineer, slowly developing a soft spot for project management in which he subsequently worked 10 years.
Although having resigned from a corporate career of 18 years under one umbrella, this soft spot is kept alive with a keen interest in the treatment of room environment.
A move from sounds made by mechanical vibrations, to mechanical structures reducing vibrating air.
By control of sound and light, looking to tweak for that noise-free listening… which should be a norm. Values silence, and now and then solitude. Thinks Mindfulness is a ‘state of being’ when work really gets done. When thoughts flow – without disruption – to reach a creative state – and finish what’s at hand.
When the outside world is tuned out, and tuned in is performance.
Feels best when Minimalism, Functionalism and Art come together, crossing their paths.
Desiderata Oy aims to
create a healthier surrounding around You, so that your performance at work, study or music practice increases. Key factors are less disturbance of sound, coupled with more interesting colors. This is done through mitigation of noise, by control of echo.
Acoustic wall panels (~ 90 x 120cm) bring down noise levels, either by traditional material dampening, or by mathematical design – via prime root calculations.
These customized solutions bring about a softer sound environment, where you gain a deeper focus on work – for a longer time. Additionally, in this atmosphere you stay fresh in mind for a longer time, and your restoration is faster. Comparable to a good nights’ sleep!
First wood panel
Proud with the work behind and result of the first PRD panel.
Wood-work done by carpenter Bernd Katter “Woodbeka”, as well as finishing touches on frame design.
